2012 Updates!

I've been away from the club and ALL the related sites for a while now. Sorry if this caused any inconvenience. I can't say how involved I will be this year but will try to keep the site updated to some extent.

I have posted up the new schedule for 2012. I know there will be some changes to the points system this year and the fees will be going down some. I will try to make the changes as I find out about them. Also, keep an eye on the Tusc. River Stillwater Creek forum for the changes. There is a link to the site in the links section of this site.
Benefit Tournament!!

We will be holding a Benefit Tournament for Tanner Stine on June 18, 2011...

Tanner was an up and coming 14yo motocross star who passed in a tragic mini bike accident in his back yard. He was Shannon Stine's younger brother. For those that do not know, Shannon is Rocky "Rockbass" Moore's fiance. Everyone in the club knows Rocky, and many know Shannon and/or Tanner. All proceeds from the tournament will go to the family to help with the funeral and medical expenses.

$10 entry - Registration will be held behind Buehler's in New Philadelphia from 5:30 - 6:00. Weigh in at same location at midnight.

Open to any PUBLIC body of water in Ohio. You can fish from the bank or a boat but all fish must be caught on rod and reel.

You may weigh in 1 Flathead and 1 Channel. There will be two plaques handed out. One for big channel and one for big flathead.

This is for a good cause! We hope to see everyone there!
Finally got to fish the river! Water levels were still high but not flooded for a change. Had some decent temps but the rain would not hold off.

Sorry for the delay in posting.

For the third tournament in a row this year, the rains and water levels forced us to the lake. It was a nice night to be out fishing though! The temps stayed comfortable and the precipitation was not a factor for a change. We had 11 anglers show up and 9 of them brought fish to weigh in.

First place went to Brian Huff with a 5 fish limit weighing a total of 13lbs12oz. KC Knight got Second place with a 5 fish stringer that weighed 11lbs13oz. Big fish honors went to Tyler Moore with an impressive 9lb0oz Channel Cat. Third place on are as follows:
Don Huff - 4 fish - 10lbs7oz .. Floyd Rennicker - 2 fish - 9lbs10oz .. Tyler Moore - 1 fish - 9lbs0oz .. Zach Leach - 1 fish - 3lbs10oz .. Joe Brown - 1 fish - 2lbs5oz .. Yvonne Huff - 1 fish - 2lbs3oz .. Jeff Huff - 1 fish - 2lbs3oz

Hoping for better weather so we can get on the river on May 14th!! Thanks to all who came out and participated!
As much as I hate to say it, the tournament will be held at Tappan Lake again. With all the rain, the river just will not drop to a fishable level and stay there. Add to that the muddy banks and cold water temps and you have a recipe for possible disaster.

Just a reminder, this is a double points tourney! Good luck everyone!!
We were once again forced to fish Tappan Lake. The river levels were looking promising until the rain from Friday night and Saturday morning started to settle in. Within a few hours time the river came up 2 feet and with muddy banks and cold water temps., safety had to be considered. The weather was a little more cooperative during the tournament with temps. in the low to mid 40's most of the night and a pretty steady drizzle with some occasional hard showers. We still had 12 people enter the tournament with 6 of those bringing back some nice stringers of fish.

First place went to Zach Leach with a 5 fish limit weighing 30lbs 2oz. Second place went to Tyler Moore with 4 fish weighing 21lbs 8oz including a nice 9lbs 7oz Channel that gave him the Big fish honors of the night. Jeff Huff took third with 5 fish weighing 19lbs 4oz followed by Brian Huff with 5 fish and a total weight of 15lbs 2oz. Floyd Rennicker and Don Huff brought back 2 fish each with weights of 9lbs 6oz and 6lbs 3oz respectively.

As always, THANKS to everyone who came out and especially to our sponsors! Next tournament is April 30, 2011 and is a double points tournament.
We had some pretty rough weather for the season opener. The temps were in the low to mid 30's all night with scattered rain (snow?) showers. There were 10 participants that showed to brave the conditions and only 4 caught fish large enough to weigh in.

First place went to Jeff Huff with an impressive 4 fish stringer and total weight of 8lbs 5oz. Second place and Big Fish both went to Brian Huff who found a nice 4lb 1oz channel cat. Floyd Rennicker pulled third place with 2 fish weighing a total of 2lbs 15oz followed by Zach Leach who had 1 fish that weighed 2lbs 4oz.

Thanks to all who came out in less then ideal conditions! The next tournament is April 16, 2011. Let's hope for better weather and some lower water so we can get on the river!
