Tappan Lake Tournaments?

We have started to discuss holding some other Tappan Lake Big Channel tournaments. This is partially at the request of the Ohio Chapter of the NAFC. The other reason is simply that we had fun fishing the lake for the Jim Corey benefit tournament. The NAFC Ohio Chapter will be holding one of its gatherings at Tappan Lake this year and have asked us to put another tournament together for that weekend. May 15, 2010 Results

It was a nice evening/night to be out cattin'. Temps were in the upper 60's most of the night with a slight breeze and an occasional shower. The showers weren't hard or long lasting, just enough to let you know mother nature was aware we were outside. The bite unfortunately seemed to be tough for such a nice night. The number of entries were down, probably due to there being 2 - 3 other catfish tournaments being held, but out of 9 entries, there were only 10 fish turned in.

Jim Corey Benefit Results

We want to thank EVERYONE who fished in the ROUGH weather that we had it was 45 degrees and raining off and on with heavy winds and we still had a decent turnout and some really big fish turned in tonight!

This was a "BIG CHANNEL CAT" tournament held on Tappan Lake with NO boats allowed! It was put on to raise money to help Darlene at Cripple Creek with expenses! We had 12 entries which resulted in $120.00 to help Darlene out and a $60.00 first place prize.

May 1, 2010 Results

The forecast was for scattered thunderstorms but fortunately, we were spared. It turned out to be a good night for fishing as far as the weather was concerned. The bite, on the other hand, did not seem to cooperate with most of our anglers. We had 14 people enter and only had 4 come back to weigh ins with fish. Those that did find the cats, found some decent sized ones with a total weight of 64 pounds 12 ounces for 10 fish.

First place and $81.00 went to Bruce McNemar with a very nice 26lb 1oz...
